Specification
●When drilling thin sheet material with a standard drill point geometry, burrs are likely to form on the exit side. By using a drill with a candle-point (flat-point) geometry, burr formation on the backside is significantly reduced, enabling smoother hole machining.
●Backed by a one-year warranty.
●The point angle can be adjusted continuously within a range of 165° to 180°.

Product Features

The EPDG Series is a drill grinder designed for steel-structure drills, capable of grinding the drill point into a straight-edge profile that is ideal for drilling thin sheet materials.
When drilling thin plates with a conventional drill, burrs often form on the exit side of the workpiece, as shown in the illustration on the left. By grinding the drill point into a straight-edge profile, the formation of exit burrs can be significantly reduced.
As a general guideline, this geometry is most effective for sheet materials whose thickness is less than half of the hole diameter. For example, when using a Ø20 mm drill, a straight-edge point geometry is recommended for plate thicknesses of 10 mm or less to minimize burr formation.
In addition, the EPDG Series grinds not only the secondary relief angle but also produces an X-thinned point geometry. The size of the center peak (web) can also be adjusted to suit specific drilling requirements.

Adjustable Chisel Edge Width

Adjustable chisel edge width through height adjustment of the secondary clearance grinding unit.
Proprietary Secondary Clearance Grinding Unit

The chisel edge width can be adjusted by changing the height of the secondary clearance grinding unit.
Adjustable Drill Point Angle

The drill point angle can be adjusted from 165° to 180° using the supplied hex wrench.
Drill Point Peak Adjustment

The height and size of the drill point peak can be adjusted to suit various drilling applications.
Bearing-Integrated Design
All collet holders are equipped with built-in sealed bearings. This helps prevent collet wear and minimizes drill runout for improved drilling accuracy.
